From an early age, hue has been at the heart of my work—shaping how I see and blend color. Growing up in the Appalachian Mountains of Tennessee, I developed a deep connection to the natural landscape. After college, I moved to New England for a job, where the terrain felt familiar, though the climate was much colder. Exploring the region further fueled my passion for color blending.
Eventually, I relocated to Syracuse, NY, where I pursued a master’s degree in textiles at Syracuse University. After graduating, I returned South, settling in North Carolina—closer to home, with both the mountains and the seashore within reach.
Now, over 30 years later, I continue to find inspiration in nature, dyeing silks and wool for everyday use. The beauty around me constantly influences my work, and blending remains an ever-evolving process. I love collaborating with clients who share a passion for hue in their daily lives.
